There were “waves” of Fowler’s Toads along Wildlife Drive when I took this shot a few weeks ago. Some of these guys are tiny and can easily be overlooked, but are relatively easy to photograph if you take the time to notice.

I prefer shooting at their level, despite the fact that most decide to hop away well before I can manage to get that low. This little guy was one of the few who sat still long enough for me to get a decent shot. I think not cropping in too tightly helps show scale and I really like the “dreamy” green bokeh.
